‘Ariadne Waits’ is a contemporary take on the Greek myth of Ariadne and the Minotaur. Ariadne falls in love with Theseus, the son of the king of Athens. She helps him the slay the Minotaur, her half-brother, and son of Minos. She does this by giving him the plan of the Labyrinth where the Minotaur is held captive. She also gives him a string or thread which he rolls out on his way in and uses to find his way out of the labyrinth.
Thesus promises to marry Ariadne and takes her to the island of Naxos but abandons her there. Ariadne plays with the string as she waits by the phone. But in modern day terms she has been Ghosted.
