Title: Adam: The Mechanics of Origin
This sculpture portrays Adam, the name of both the model and the symbolic first man. One side presents a traditional portrait, while the other reveals an écorché anatomy study. This duality invites viewers to confront both the outer image we present to the world and the hidden mechanics beneath the surface.
Adam, the model, is blind. He works as an artist's model in Amsterdam and lives independently with some help from his guide dog, Pika.
Adam works at Figura | Dutch Academy of Figurative Sculpture in Amsterdam.

The piece is cast in Jesmonite (acrylic resin), painted, waxed and mounted on a hardwood base. It is a limited edition of five.
It is also available in bronze.
