Jackie Edwards

'Choc-O-Lat'
On the back of a finished piece, or indeed inside the stretcher bar, should I decide to use
a stretched linen surface, I will write:
'Made for you with Love'
I am hoping that the beholder can identify with this.
Why do we make art? Because art is for sharing.
My name is Jackie Edwards, a figurative artist born and raised just outside of London, UK,
and have lived in Ireland for 45 years now. I have painted in oils most of my life.
This piece 'Choc-O-Lat' is painted in oils with some tiny detailing on the dress of the
subject in silver leaf.
My technique is to firstly apply a monochomatic underpainting, then build up in layers of oil
to the finished piece.
Inspiration: Fond childhood memories of licking the wooden spoon from the bowl as mum
makes a cake!
