"Hometown" is a cherished view over the once bustling town of Clones, Co. Monaghan from my Grandparents kitchen window. Painted when winter was biting, and autumn leaves were ready to fall. Although a quieter place now, I recall visual and spoken memories of watching busy Saturday night shopping, church processions, strings of festive coloured lights, trucks halting traffic with deliveries and the talk of trains that ran below the field bringing family to Armagh and beyond. Painted in oils on stretched canvas.
I adore painting, especially en plein air. This beautiful country inspires me to paint, some days with amazing soundtracks from nature. It's a constant learning and exploring curve.
