"Hidden in plain sight XIX"

During the pandemic lockdown I had a lot of time to think about my work practice. I began to realise that it was time to move away from the toxic materials I had used for almost 40 years while etching.

At the same time I was going on daily walks during which I became more aware of my surroundings. Perhaps it was the lack of cars and people during the pandemic that heightened this awareness; but I found myself taking photos and making drawings of places and objects that I had barely noticed before.

With my decision to move to the "greener" printmaking technique of drypoint, I felt a change of subject material was also essential. The photos and drawings I made during my walks seemed perfect for this radical shift and led to this series of work "Hidden in plain sight".
